1. The Devil Wears Prada is a 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberger about a young woman who is hired as a personal assistant to a powerful fashion magazine editor, a job that becomes nightmarish as she struggles to keep up with her boss's grueling schedule and demeaning demands. The novel is considered by many to be an example of the "chick lit" genre.

2. The Da Vinci Code is a 2003 mystery thriller novel by Dan Brown. The Da Vinci Code follows symbologist Robert Langdon and cryptologist Sophie Neveu after a murder in the Louvre Museum in Paris causes them to become involved in a battle between the Priory of Sion and Opus Dei over the possibility of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene having had a child together.

3. Breakfast at Tiffany's is a classic novella by American novelist Truman Capote, published in 1958. It tells the story of a young writer who becomes infatuated with his eccentric neighbour, Holly Golightly, and their unconventional friendship in New York City. Holly Golightly is an unbelievable young woman. Her way of life and manners are not always objective. She just follows her heart and not mind. Her life is one big endless journey.

4. Nineteen Eighty Four by George Orwell (English novelist, essayist, journalist, and critic), written in 1949. Set in a dystopian future, the novel presents a society under the total control of a totalitarian regime, led by the omnipresent Big Brother. The protagonist, a low-ranking member of 'the Party', begins to question the regime and falls in love with a woman, an act of rebellion in a world where independent thought, dissent, and love are prohibited. The novel explores themes of surveillance, censorship, and the manipulation of truth.

5. The Great Gatsby, 3rd novel by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald, published in 1925. Set in Jazz Age New York, it tells the tragic story of Jay Gatsby, a self-made millionaire, and his pursuit of Daisy Buchanan, a wealthy young woman whom he loved in his youth.
